No — you can join most public rooms as a guest with just a temporary username. Creating a profile just lets you keep the same identity across sessions.
Browse available rooms from the homepage under "Rooms," or use the search icon to find one by topic or name.
This is usually a temporary network hiccup — refreshing the page will normally reconnect you. If it keeps happening, let us know via Report an Issue.
Whatever you choose at upload time — anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 days. Once that window passes, the link stops working.
