ChatBoom.in ("ChatBoom," "we," "us") runs open, public chat rooms. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. What we collect

Because ChatBoom is built around anonymous, public rooms, we intentionally collect very little:

• Username & profile info — whatever you choose to set; you're never required to use your real name.
• Chat messages — sent within public rooms, visible to other participants in that room by design.
• Uploaded photos/GIFs — files you choose to share through our upload tool.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, and basic device information, collected automatically for security and to keep the service running.
• Cookies — small bits of data used to remember your session and preferences.

How we use it

We use the information above to operate the chat rooms, keep the platform secure, moderate reported content, and improve the product over time. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Photos & uploads

When you upload a photo or GIF, you choose how long the resulting link stays active — from 5 minutes up to 30 days. Once that expiry passes, the file is no longer served and is removed from active storage. Anyone with the link can view the file while it's active, so only share images you're comfortable being seen by whoever has that link.

Sharing your information

We share information only in limited circumstances: with service providers who help us run the platform (like our cloud storage provider), when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users. We do not share your private information with advertisers.

Your choices

You can change or delete your username at any time from your profile page. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. You're also free to leave any room at any time, and reported content is reviewed by our moderation team.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the data we hold, including encrypted connections and access controls on our storage systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to avoid sharing sensitive personal information in public rooms regardless.

Children's privacy

ChatBoom is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the platform, please report it using the details below.
